Virtual EM was selected for a NASA Phase I SBIR award to develop RFID-based sensing and navigation system for future space missions. Georgia Institute of Technology will be the subcontractor providing support on RFID electronics and manufacturing technology. The work is expected to start in January 2010.

The Army Phase I SBIR work led by UES, Inc., on which Virtual EM was the subcontractor, was selected for a two-year Phase II award. The Phase II work will commence in January 2010 and Virtual EM will develop the instrumentation and wireless sections of the prototype sensor.

Virtual EM was awarded a Phase II STTR contract by NASA (Houston, TX) for developing multi-beam adaptive wearable antennas for astronauts to be used in future space missions. Purdue University and Monarch Antenna, Inc. are the subcontractors providing support on RF MEMS switches and self-structuring antenna (SSA) technology, respectively.
